Welcome to The Chicago Bar Association! There are many ways to learn, network and get involved as a new member. View upcoming events. Please feel free to contact Gretchen Riley at 312-554-2133 with specific questions regarding your membership or upcoming events. In the meantime, here are some frequently asked questions to get you started.

 

How Do I Login to the CBA Website and Access Members Only Sections?
Enter your account number (CBA member number) and your password (CBA member number followed by your last name). If you forgot your member number, email Gretchen Riley or call 312-554-2133.

 

How Do I Change Password?
Click here to change your password. Please Note: Your default password is your CBA member number followed by your last name. If you change your password, we do not have access to it.

 

How Do I Change My Preferred Mailing/Billing Address Online?
This cannot be done via the CBA website. Please email Gretchen Riley or call 312-554-2133.

 

How Do I Update My Practice Area/Practice Setting in My Profile?
Click here to update your member profile. This will allow the CBA to communicate relevant benefits based on your member profile and preferences.

 

How Many Seminars are Offered on a Monthly Basis and How Do I Register?
View a list of CLE seminars and online registration. The CBA typically offers 10 seminars a month (Sept-June). Seminar formats include live programs, DVD rentals and archived webcasts. You may attend individual seminars or purchase the CLEAdvantage Plan for $125 a plan year to attend unlimited seminars (some restrictions apply). Learn more about the CLEAdvantage plan now or call the CLE Ticketing Dept at 312-554-2056.

 

Where Can I Get More Information About MCLE Requirements?
Go to
www.mcleboard.org or call 312-924-2420. Attorneys in practice for less than one year only need to take a 15-hour Basic Skills Course. The CBA offers this course in approximately October and April every year.

 

Does the CBA Offer Career Services?
Visit the CBA's online Career Center and CBA Placement Center.

 

How Do I Get Involved with the Young Lawyers Section?
If you have been practicing for less than 10 years, you are automatically enrolled as a member of the CBA Young Lawyers Section. Visit the YLS Section to explore upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, young lawyer resources and more.

 

How Do I Get Involved in Committees?
In addition to earning free Illinois MCLE credit for attending noon hour committee meetings, being involved in committees provides great networking and leadership opportunities. Visit the Committees Section to join committees, view upcoming topics and speakers, access listservs and more. There are no extra fees to join committees. Contact Awilda Reyes at 312-554-2134 with questions.

 

What is the Cost of Membership After My Free 6-Month Trial?
The cost of membership varies by admission date and office location. View the CBA's Dues Schedule for details.

 

Where is the CBA Located?
In the Southeast part of the Loop at 321 S. Plymouth Court, between Dearborn/State and Jackson/Van Buren. Our headquarters houses meeting facilities, a legal bookstore and offices for our insurance administrators and all CBA staff.
