Barristers Big Band

The Barristers Big Band is performing its annual FREE fall concert on Friday October 16th, 2009 at 6:00 pm in the Cindy Pritzker Auditorium at the Harold Washington Library Center. The concert theme is "Celebrate Chicago" and will open with "All That Jazz" from the Movie Chicago. There will be songs from great Chicago jazz musicians like Benny Goodman's "Bugle Call Rag" and Bix Beiderbecke's "Singin' The Blues." There will be songs about Chicago like "My Kind of Town", two versions of "Chicago" and "Bad Bad Leroy Brown." We even have a few songs from the band Chicago like "25 or 6 to 4" and "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?" The concert will also feature the world premier of an original composition by Bob Ojeda entitled the "Obama Suite" commissioned by the Barristers Big Band in honor of our current President.
