The Problem

In addressing the forefront of both significant social and legal issue that has plastered the news in recent years, the 2009 Chicago Bar Association YLS Moot Court Competition is asking prominent law school moot court teams to argue whether the Defense of Marriage Act obstructs the application of Full Faith and Credit amongst the states and whether these doctrines can work to deny a state’s recognition of same-sex union properly solemnized in a sister state.
