Join the CBA Chorus!

Following its performances of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Fauré’s Requiem, Mendelssohn’s oratorio Elijah, and Haydn's Creation, the CBA Chorus is looking to add singers as it enters its fourth full concert season. In December 2007 the CBA Chorus and Symphony Orchestra performed Vivaldi’s Gloria, the Hallelujah Chorus, and other favorites at the Family Holiday Festival in the Grand Ballroom at Navy Pier. Returing to Navy Pier with the Symphony Orchestra in December 2008, the CBA Chorus performed more holiday favorites including "The Leroy Anderson Festival of Carols" at the Winter Wonder Fest in Festival Hall. Caroling groups sang familiar carols in other parts of the Pier inviting folks to the concert. Members of the CBA Chorus and the De Minimus Brass also performed holiday selections at the Harold Washington Library Center for a noon time program. In March 2009, the CBA Chorus and the Symphony Orchestra performed a Spring concert of American music, including Aaron Copland's The Promise of Living."

In addition to major concerts, the CBA Chorus has performed at Law Day events in Chicago, has sung the National Anthem at US Cellular Field, and has sung Wilhousky's arrangement of the Battle Hymn of the Republic accompanied by the CBA Symphony Orchestra for the Lincoln Bicentennial Gala Celebration at Navy Pier.

This season the CBA Chorus and Symphony Orchestra will be performing Poulenc's Gloria. As a means of raising funds for its services on behalf of the CBA, the Chorus will also offer small vocal ensembles to entertain at private events held by law firms, businesses and organizations. Take advantage of this opportunity to sing some of the world’s great music, rehearse and perform under outstanding professional conductors.

The CBA Chorus is growing. Lend your voice, bring a friend, and be part of the excitement! Rehearsals are held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesdays at the CBA Building, 321 S. Plymouth Court. To join, contact Jennifer Widmer or Terry Kennedy. No auditions are required. All members of the CBA are welcome to participate. If you are not already a CBA member, call 312-554-2133 for a membership application or join online.
