Since 1924, the Horwitz family of distinguished Chicago trial
attorneys has continued a tradition begun by grandfather, Jacob W.
Horwitz and then his son Andrew J. Horwitz, representing individuals
against corporate wrongdoers and insurance companies who have taken
advantage of those who have been injured. Clifford and Mitchell Horwitz
are third generation trial lawyers who continue that tradition. Clifford
Horwitz heads the lead trial team at Horwitz, Horwitz & Associates.
He has won every case that he's tried for the last 20 years with over
one-quarter of his victories being record-setting jury verdicts.
Mitchell Horwitz leads workers' compensation team. He was recently named
one of the Top 10 Workers' Compensation Lawyers in Illinois by his peers
through a survey conducted by Leading Lawyers.
The firm is comprised of nine partners and five associates with
departments focused on personal injury, workers' compensation, nursing
home abuse and neglect, and wrongful death. Attorneys at Horwitz,
Horwitz & Associates have been recognized by the American
Association of Justice, Illinois Super Lawyers, the National Trial
Lawyers Association Top 100 Trial Lawyers and Top 40 Under 40, the
Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates
Forum, and Leading Lawyers.
In a recent example of Horwitz, Horwitz & Associates' record of
success, Clifford Horwitz, Jay Luchsinger, and Michael Carter won
another record-setting jury verdict of $64 Million for an injured
ironworker who fell and was left paralyzed from a jobsite accident.
According to the Illinois Jury Verdict Reporter, the verdict was the
highest ever in the state of Illinois for an individual. The American
Association of Justice published the verdict in their annual litigation
packet, branding Clifford, Jay and Michael as "masters in the
profession." Less than two years later, this same trial team won another
record jury verdict for a carpenter who was left permanently injured
from a jobsite accident. The carpenter had been told by another firm
that there was no case.
But their distinction is more than a legacy of record-setting
verdicts or peer acclaim. It is found in the satisfaction of thousands
of clients, including the countless cases that other firms felt were too
difficult to accept; cases that Horwitz, Horwitz & Associates took
on, skillfully prosecuted and won. They have recovered more than $1
billion in verdicts and settlements for hardworking families throughout
the state of Illinois.
