The Young Lawyers Section's (YLS) Law Student Committee provides a forum for Chicago area law students to not only participate in CBA events, but also bring student issues to the attention of bar association leadership, make career contacts and learn more about the realities of practicing law. Each bar year, the YLS plans and hosts several annual events that area specifically designed for law students. In addition, law student members are encouraged to participate in the activities of the Young Lawyers Section. Below is a quick reference guide of upcoming events law student members are encouraged to attend as well as links to additional CBA services and programs that may be of use to the student member.

Legal Prep Neighborhood Cleanup Day – September 20
Join students and parents from Legal Prep Charter Academy for a neighborhood cleanup day on Saturday, September 20, 2014. Volunteers will assist the students in sprucing up the neighborhood immediately adjacent to Legal Prep in which they participate for physical education activities as well as after-school programming. This project gives volunteers a chance to interact with Legal Prep students while benefitting the immediate neighborhood surrounding the school. Following the clean-up, there will be a back-to-school BBQ to get the students excited about the school year and to thank the volunteers for assisting with the project. Volunteers will meet at Legal Prep, 4319 W. Washington Blvd, Chicago IL, 60624 at 10 a.m. The BBQ will go from 12-1:30 p.m. Transportation is the responsibility of the volunteer. To sign up, contact
David J. Stein. Law student members welcome.
