CBA Symphony Orchestra

The CBA Symphony Orchestra Committee is designed for all CBA members who are interested in participating in an orchestra and performing as an orchestra or in smaller chamber ensembles. Rehearsals are held every Wednesday, 6:15-8:00 p.m., at the Daley Center, and public performances are scheduled from September through May. Compact disc recordings are made of selected performances. Orchestra members must be CBA members in good standing with the Association. Participants pay annual dues of $75 to help defray costs including a professional conductor, sheet music, and other expenses. 

 

Auditions are not required, but openings in some sections may be limited due to musical staffing requirements. In general, the Orchestra can usually accept additional string players and low brass players. Openings for woodwind instruments are very limited (please inquire). Tickets are now on sale for 2012-2013 CBA Symphony Orchestra and Chorus concert season. All concerts are held at St. James Episcopal Cathedral (Wabash at Huron). Schedule is as follows:

  • A Serenade to Music - Wednesday, November 7, 2012, 7:30 p.m.
  • Across the Pond: Music from France & America - Wednesday, March 6, 2013, 7:30 p.m.
  • Chamber Concert: Spring Song - Sunday, April 14, 2013, 3:00 p.m. 
  • Music for a Sacred Space - Wednesday, May 15, 2013, 7:30 p.m. 

 

Season Pass (all five concerts) - $55 (best value); $45 Student (under 18 and law students)
Individual Tickets in Advance - $12 adults/$10 student online (plus small processing fee) or from any ensemble member
Tickets at the Door - $15 adults/$12 students
