The Young Lawyers Section of The Chicago Bar Association hosts many
events and programs throughout the bar year designed to provide useful
and relevant information along with networking opportunities for the new

YLS Shadow Program
YLS Chair Paul Ochmanek invites attorneys and law students to
participate in the Young Lawyer Section's new Law Student Shadow
Program. The program aims to assist law students in obtaining an
understanding of the practice of law as well as serve as an introduction
to our profession's many practice areas. Become involved with the
program for as little as a single hour of your work day.! Learn

Volunteers Needed for Legal Prep Writing Workshops
The YLS, in partnership with Legal Prep’s Associate Board, is
looking for volunteers to help Legal Prep’s juniors improve their
college application essays through three in-person writing workshops.
Each volunteer will work with a small group of 6-10 students to provide
“best practices”for college application essays, help
students brainstorm essay topics, and review and give feedback on draft
essays. A training for volunteers will be held on March 5 from 11:45

Donate Gently Worn Formal Dresses and Accessories-Thru March
Is your closet still cluttered with dresses from weddings,
proms and other formal events that you’ll never wear again?
The Young Lawyers Section is collecting gently worn (and
clean) prom dresses, formals, bridesmaid dresses, jewelry, evening bags,
unworn nylons, unopened makeup and formal gloves to the Glass Slipper
Project. All sizes are needed. Drop your donations on
the first floor of the CBA Building (321 S. Plymouth
Wills for Heroes Event-Marachch 14 (Volunteers
Volunteers are needed for a Wills for Heroes Foundation event on March
14, 2015, from 8 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Chicago Police Department
Headquarters, 3510 S. Michigan Ave, Chicago. At the event, volunteer
lawyers help create free wills and other estate planning documents for
local emergency first responders and their spouses or partners.
Non-attorneys and law students can help too! A short training takes
place at 8:00 a.m., followed by the event at 9:00 a.m. Free parking is
