YLS Events

The Young Lawyers Section of The Chicago Bar Association hosts many events and programs throughout the bar year designed to provide useful and relevant information along with networking opportunities for the new attorney. Information on upcoming events and opportunities are detailed below.


Will for Heroes Event-January 24 (Volunteers Needed)
Volunteers are needed for a Wills for Heroes Foundation event on January 24, 2015, from 8 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Chicago Police Department Headquarters, 3510 S. Michigan Ave, Chicago. At the event, volunteer lawyers help create free wills and other estate planning documents for local emergency first responders and their spouses or partners. Non-attorneys and law students can help too! A short training takes place at 8:00 a.m., followed by the event at 9:00 a.m. Free parking is available. 9th Annual Texas Hold 'Em Tournament to Benefit the CBF-January 30
Join the Young Lawyers Section at its Ninth Annual Texas Hold’em Tournament for the benefit of The Chicago Bar Foundation. A special refresher course will be held prior to the tournament start to remind novice players of the basic rules of play and how to properly bet. Prizes will be awarded.
