Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges

Reflections by Profiles and Diversity Award Honorees

The Chicago Bar Association recently recognized several legal professionals for their outstanding efforts on behalf of women and minority attorneys in our legal community. On November 4, 2011, at the Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges Conference, "Profiles in Diversity" awards were presented to the Hon. Leonard Murray of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Azam Nizamuddin of the Law Office of Azam Nizamuddin P.C., Z. Scott of Kaye Scholer LLP, and Ted Yi of Quarles & Brady LLP. They were honored for not only breaking barriers, but for building bridges and holding the door open for others. Play the video at left to hear their reflections on what Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges means to them.

The Breaking Barriers Building Bridges Conference was designed over 10 years ago to inspire attorneys by what women and other diverse attorneys have achieved, to learn key strategies used by today's top lawyers, and to promote best practices for increasing diversity in the profession. The CBA will hold its next conference in the spring of 2013.
