Justice: An Evening of Stories and Community – October 24 Complimentary!
As part of Pro Bono Week 2017, join The Chicago Bar Foundation and the Young Lawyers Section on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Revolution Brewing. Get to know your fellow justice-minded colleagues and enjoy listening to stories of justice shared by volunteers from the audience. Interested in telling a story? Come prepared with a five-minute story related to the theme (justice) to share with attendees from the Chicago legal community. Those who volunteer to tell stories will be entered in a prize raffle. 24th Annual Pro Bono and Community Service Fair – October 26 Complimentary!
Meet with representatives from 40+ of Chicago’s legal aid, pro bono, community service and mentoring organizations to find an opportunity that fits your schedule, interests and goals. Join the YLS, CBA and CBF for the 24th Annual Pro Bono and Community Service Fair. The Fair will be held at the law offices of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, 300 N. Lawyers Call to Action: Making Positive Change in Chicago - November 3 Complimentary!

Hiawatha's Wedding Feast Performance - November 8
The CBA Symphony Orchestra and Chorus will perform Anglo-African Composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s Hiawatha’s Wedding Feast in concert on November 8. In addition, the Symphony Orchestra will perform Antonin Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9 in E Minor. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the St. James Episcopal Cathedral at Wabash & Huron. 2017 Pro Bono Week: For the Sake of Community - October 23 to 27
The Chicago Bar Association and The Chicago Bar Foundation are pleased to present Chicago’s 13th Annual Pro Bono Week from October 23-27, 2017. Pro Bono Week celebrates lawyers’ pro bono efforts and educates the public and the legal community about how these lawyers are improving the lives of the less fortunate. Free events will include the Young Lawyers Section’s Pro Bono and Community Service Fair on October 27, a story slam at Revolution Brewing, and seminars. Brief Graders and Judges Needed for CBA Moot Court
The Young Lawyers Section is hosting its annual Moot Court Competition from November 16-18, 2017, at the Dirksen Federal Building in Chicago. This year, 32 teams are competing from across the country. The YLS needs attorneys to act as competition judges and brief graders. Volunteer brief graders will be asked to review and critique approximately 4-5 briefs the week of October 23 and volunteer competition judges are needed on the evenings of November 16 and 17 (5:30 or 7:30 p.m.) and the morning of November 18 (9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.). Competition judges are eligible to earn Illinois MCLE credit. To volunteer, fill out the appropriate volunteer form: Brief Grader and/or Competition Judge.
