YLS Presents Slate of 2018-2019 Officers and Directors
Pursuant to Section 5.4 of Article V of the By-Laws of the Young Lawyers Section, the Nominating Committee of the Young Lawyers Section submits its slate of candidates for election to the offices indicated. The term of office for each position to be filled shall be one year from the 2018 Annual Meeting of the Young Lawyers Section to the 2019 Annual Meeting, except the Co-Editors in Chief of the YLS Journal and the Directors shall have two-year terms. Serving Our Seniors/Senior Center Power of Attorney Initiative Workshop – April 7
The Young Lawyers Section is hosting a Serving Our Seniors event on Saturday, April 7, 2018, from 12:00-2:30 p.m., at the Center on Addison, 850 W. Addison, Chicago, IL. The Center is located by the Addison Red Line stop and street parking is available. Attorney volunteers are needed to draft powers of attorney. No experience is necessary and law students are welcome to help. To register for the workshop or ask questions about the event, please e-mail Maureen Loughran. New volunteers are asked to either attend a April 4 training or watch an online training video. The live training will take place at The Center for Disability and Elder Law (CDEL) on Wednesday, April 4 from 5:00-6:30 at CDEL, 205 W. Randolph, Suite 1610. New Mental Health Pro Bono Pilot Program

Every year, about 200,000 Cook County residents experience a severe mental health episode. When this happens, friends and family often struggle to understand the available legal remedies and how to access them. You can help empower families by providing vitally important legal information through a new Mental Health Pro Bono Pilot Program.
