Call for Nominations: CBA/CBF Annual Pro Bono and Public Service Awards
The CBA and CBF invite you to submit nominations by May 21, 2012, for the Chicago legal community's prestigious pro bono and public service awards. These awards celebrate exemplary members of the legal profession who have used their talents and resources to improve access to justice for the less fortunate in our community. CBA Launches Mentoring Program - Mentor/Mentees Earn 6 IL PR Credit Hours
In partnership with the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism, the CBA proudly announces the implementation of a Lawyer-to-Lawyer Mentoring Program. Experienced attorneys (six or more years) will be matched with newly licensed attorneys (admitted 2 years or less) for a year-long mentoring program. Participating mentors and new lawyers will receive 6 hours of professional responsibility CLE credit upon program completion. The program guidelines and applications to be a mentor or mentee are available at www.chicagobar.org/mentoring. The mentoring program will kick-off with an orientation program on May 31, 2012.

Adopt-a-Beach Clean Up - May 24
The YLS Environmental Law Committee will be joining the Alliance for the Great Lakes and Barefoot Wine and Bubbly for an Adopt-a-Beach clean up event at North Avenue Beach on May 24, 2012 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Volunteers will work in groups of three to collect, sort, and classify the items found on the beach. After the clean up, Barefoot Wine and Bubbly will host a networking event with a free wine tasting at Castaways, 1603 N. Lake Shore Drive near North Avenue Beach. To volunteer, email Joey Barnett.
