If you handle client funds, managing client trust accounts is an unavoidable part of legal practice. Moreover, the handling of client funds is subject to the Rules of Professional Conduct, which makes doing it right not just desirable, but imperative.

Our panel will detail the recent amendments to RPC 1.15, which include clarification that all client funds must be held at interest, provisions for a trust account overdraft notification system, and updated recordkeeping requirements. The panel will discuss when and how to use IOLTA accounts, and describe the work supported by IOLTA. Then, legal software experts will demonstrate how to track trust accounts using CLIO, QuickBooks, Timeslips, and Excel and ensure that you are administering your accounts in accordance with the rules. Time will be devoted for a question and answer session following the demonstrations.
