A trio of cases before the Supreme Court could bring major changes to the class action landscape over the coming year. Tyson v. Bouaphakeo presents the question of whether everyone joined in a class must have been injured in order for the class to be certified. In Campbell-Ewald v. Gomez, the Supreme Court is expected to decide whether a case becomes moot when the named plaintiff receives an offer of judgment. And whether Congress can confer standing on a plaintiff who can prove the violation of a statute but not a real-world injury is at issue in Spokeo v. Robins. Panelists in this seminar will discuss the potential impact of these cases on class action litigation going forward, with a moderated discussion followed by an audience question and answer session.

PANELISTS:
Tara L. Goodwin, Edelman Combs Latturner & Goodwin, LLC
Joni S. Jacobsen, Dechert LLP
Professor Joan E. Steinman, Chicago-Kent College of Law
