A Temporary Visitor Driver's License (TVDL) permits foreign-born individuals living in Illinois to drive. Since 2005, TVDLs have been issued to individuals without a Social Security number, but who have lawful immigration status, such as international students, spouses and children of temporary workers, and long-term visitors. In December 2013, TVDLs became available to undocumented drivers. Our panelists will discuss recent changes and developments with the TVDL program along with the legislative history, pointers, and more.
