For many private business owners, most of their personal net worth is directly tied to the value of their respective businesses. In this difficult economic climate, many business owners have become more concerned with preserving value for future security and effectively passing a legacy to descendants. Likewise, many successful new businesses which have started up in the last few years may be struggling with "growing pains" relating to effective governance and harmony among the family owners. These issues are magnified by family dynamics where one descendant is actively involved in the business and another has no involvement. The presenters will also provide tax-efficient techniques for transferring value of the business without transferring control. Continued below
