SPEAKERS: Martin E. Marty - Martin E. Marty is the Fairfax M. Cone Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus at The University of Chicago, where he taught for 35 years. Also an ordained Lutheran minister, and has been on the staff of The Christian Century since 1957. The author of many books, chiefly dealing with "religion and the republic" in American history, he is a National Book Award winner and holder of the National Medal of Humanities.
