TOPIC: International Law in the Daley Center: a view from the courtroom. Best and worse practices when representing foreign clients, including issues of service, personal jurisdiction and discovery.

SPEAKER: Ed Samuelson, Law Clerk in the Law Motions Division of the Cook County Circuit Court. After pursuing a doctoral degree in French Studies at New York University, Ed Samuelson decided it was easier to go to law school than to finish his dissertation. He earned his J.D. at the John Marshall Law School in 2008. He spent the next two years in a plaintiff personal injury firm where he specialized in drafting motions and memoranda. In January 2010, Ed began working as a law clerk for Judges Ronald Davis, John Kirby and Jack Callahan. Ed Samuelson also teaches a judicial externship clinic and Illinois civil motion practice at the John Marshall Law School.
