Topic: Raising Emotional Intelligence to Reach Success

We will explore raising one's emotional intelligence to foster leadership, productivity, and awareness to make better lawyers. Emotional intelligence as opposed to one's IQ relates to how well one is aware of one's own emotions or moods and those around them in order to problem-solve (see both sides of an argument in a case) or motivate others (persuade or exhibit leadership). Lawyers are constantly make judgment decisions on how to handle clients, opposing counsel, judges, partners, and other legal personnel. Understanding how to read and manage a situation can be the difference between gaining a client, winning the case, or making partner.
