TOPIC: Avian Issues in Animal Law
SPEAKER: Annette Prince has worked for over 25 years in wildlife conservation and education programs with USFW, NPS, Shedd Aquarium, Brookfield Zoo, NWRA, Willowbrook Wildlife Center and Chicago Audubon Society. She has directed Chicago Bird Collision Monitors (CBCM) since 2005, leading their efforts to rescue and protect migratory birds that encounter urban dangers as they pass through the Chicago area. Each year, CBCM recovers more than 6,000 birds that are killed or injured by collisions with the glass in downtown windows and lobbies. CBCM works to raise awareness and educate the public, building management and architects about reducing lighting, glass and design features that can be hazardous for birds.
