TOPIC: Gene Patenting: Myriad Go-Round - Ms. Hibbs's presentation will focus on the patentability of genetic sequences in the US and the EU, using the Myriad Genetics' breast cancer patents as the primary model examined. Whether genetic sequences are excluded as products of nature or accepted as patentable subject matter will have drastic impact on the Biotech, Pharmaceutical, and Health Care industries.
