Pregnancy Discrimination
Attorney Renee E. Coover will lead a lively discussion on the rise in pregnancy discrimination claims in the workplace. Increasingly, employers and employees face difficult decisions regarding pregnancy and maternity leave under various employment laws, including the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, FMLA and ADA. The EEOC has taken notice of the growing trend and has increased efforts to target and prosecute employers that discriminate against pregnant women. Lawyers practicing in this area will gain insight into the key issues to consider when advising employers on making employment decisions with regard to pregnant employees, or representing employees that have been discriminated against on the basis of pregnancy.
