Minute with a Judge
Ever appear in front of a particular judge and wonder how he or she operates? The YLS decided took on a new initiative to help young lawyers acquaint themselves with judges: Minute with a Judge. An expansion of the YLS’s successful Lunch with a Judge program, which began in 2006 and continues today, Minute with a Judge provides short webcast interviews of individual judges who offer practice tips for attorneys and their particular do's and don'ts when it comes to appearing before them.

Starting and Growing Your Business e-book
In recognition of the difficult business environment in which small businesses operate and the fact that many small businesses simply cannot afford the legal and professional services necessary to navigate these difficult times, the CBA Young Lawyers Section partnered with the Small Business Advocacy Council to create an educational e-book for small business owners. The Starting and Growing Your Business e-book provides small business owners with general information in a number of areas of the law and business.  This 12-chapter e-book includes advice on: writing a business plan; financing; physical office space; virtual and shared office space; legal structure; registering your business and state, local and federal taxes, permits, licenses; accounting and record keeping; legal steps in hiring, firing and maintaining employees; developing a marketing plan; web and online marketing/presence; networking; and succession planning for small business owners.
