Best Practices For Ensuring Income Tax Charitable Deductions

For clients who are charitably inclined, year-end can be a very hectic time. This seminar will help answer questions such as:

When is a gift deemed complete by the IRS?
Do clients need to receive any documents from the charity?
Do clients need to submit any documents to the IRS when claiming a charitable deduction?
What penalties might clients face for non-compliance particularly given recent litigation? 

Besides the rules and case law, we will also look at practical considerations when making gifts during the busiest time of year including giving mutual funds, closely-held stock, or other illiquid assets.
