Expanding Your Family Law Practice Through Unbundled Service

Expanding your Family Law Practice through Unbundled Services: Future of the Profession Workshop #2

Are you a family law attorney looking to tap into a new pool of legal consumers?  Are you seeking ways to add greater value to and build stronger relationships with clients?  If the answer is yes, consider adding this training to your list of New Year’s resolutions!  According to a 2011 ABA survey, two-thirds of legal consumers were interested in talking with an attorney about unbundled, a la carte legal services (e.g., having an attorney only draft or review initial pleadings or go to court on a one-time basis) once they knew what they were, and 80% of legal consumers said that offering unbundled services would reflect favorably upon lawyers.

Additionally, clients and attorneys alike consistently report that offering unbundled services results in happier clients and family law is one of the most common and easiest practice areas in which to unbundle.  Therefore, if unbundled options are not currently included on your menu of services, you very well might be missing out connecting and building strong relationships with a large segment of the legal consumer market.  But have no fear, we are here to help!

At this hands-on training, experienced practitioners will share information and tips on the following:
What limited scope is and is not;
What rules apply;
How unbundled services benefit legal consumers and attorneys;
How to advertise unbundled services;
How to identify and screen good candidates for limited scope;
How to draft airtight engagement agreements; and
How to get started!

Participants will then work through several scenarios that will illustrate and reinforce what they learned.
