Navigating the Courts Alone: A Simulation

Sign up to participate in an interactive training exercise where you will step into the shoes of a single parent going to court alone to defend against an eviction.

During the simulation, participants will navigate several interrelated systems including the court, legal aid, public benefits, and housing. The simulation is designed to shed light on the complexities of these systems and the ways in which they do not always work together. Participants will also learn about ways that the courts and legal system are working to remove barriers faced by people without lawyers.

The simulation will last one hour, followed by a debrief and panel conversation with experts from the bench, bar, and courts.
