Herman Kogan Media Awards
The Chicago Bar Association's Kogan Media Awards recognize outstanding legal affairs reporting by Chicago journalists in print, broadcast and online publications and media outlets. The awards honor the top stories written and reported by journalists that explore the legal system or the work of lawyers, the judiciary, governmental agencies or civic groups.
The Kogan Award Competition, established in 1989, celebrates the career of Herman Kogan, whose career spanned more than 50 years and included experience as a reporter, feature and editorial writer, editor, author, historian, biographer, literary critic, radio host and television executive.
