Statistics released by the Chicago Police Department show a downward trend in gun violence.  While those statistics are encouraging, many Chicago neighborhoods continue to face challenges related to almost daily gun violence including the trauma faced by victims and their loved ones and a decline of population in some neighborhoods.  Chicago police respond to this crisis by adding resources in these neighborhoods.  But are we making progress? What can be done beyond an increased police presence? 
In this timely discussion, facts and solutions to common questions relating to solving the issues in Chicago’s problematic neighborhoods will be addressed including: Bail or jail? Which is more effective? Does jail as punishment deter?
Will police reform make Chicago safer?
