Welcome to the CBA Moot Court Competition
For 39 years, the Moot Court Committee of the Young Lawyers Section of The Chicago Bar Association ("CBA") has hosted an Annual Moot Court Competition. The Competition takes place in November of each calendar year. Participants from ABA-accredited law schools from around the country have the opportunity to hone their research, writing, and oral advocacy skills along with approximately 30 other teams. CBA members serve as volunteer brief graders and oral argument judges to give participants a real taste of courtroom practice.
Registration for the 2021 Virtual Moot Court Competition is CLOSED due to meeting the maximum number of teams allowed.

Important Dates to Note:
Group A registration open June 21, 2021
Group B registration open July 12, 2021
Written Briefs are due October 22, 2021
Oral Arguments will take place via Zoom video conferencing technology as follows
November 18 - Preliminary Rounds 1, 2 and 3 (11:00am, 2:00pm, and 5:00pm)
November 19 - Octo-Finals Top 16 (11:00am), Quarter-Finals Top 8 (2:00pm) and Semi-Finals Top 4 (5:00pm)
November 20 - Final Round (11:00am) and Awards Ceremony (approx. 1:00pm)
