CBA to Honor Maryam Ahmad at 2018 Vanguard Awards - April 24
The CBA is proud to co-host the 2018 Vanguard Awards Luncheon on April 24, 2018, at The Standard Club with several local bar associations. This year’s luncheon honors lawyers, judges and institutions that have made the law and the legal profession more accessible to and reflective of the community we serve. Maryam Ahmad of the Cook County State's Attorney's Office has been announced as the Association's 2018 honoree. See a full list of honorees. A reception for the honorees will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by the luncheon in the Grand Ballroom. Tickets for the luncheon are $70 per person. Law Day Judges Reception - May 3 Complimentary!

New Episode of Chicago Talks Airs Tonight
This week's CBA cable television show “Chicago Talks” features an interview with CBA President Judge Thomas Mulroy, YLS Chair Jonathan Amarilio, and Carmen Ambar, president of Oberlin College. Ms. Ambar, the first African American leader in the institution’s 184-year history, discusses diversity and free speech on college campuses. The show airs tonight (April 19) at 9 p.m. in Chicago on Channel 25.

Members Needed for Judicial Evaluation Committee
The CBA’s Judicial Evaluation Committee serves the legal profession and the public by investigating and providing substantive recommendations regarding judicial candidates and sitting judges seeking retention. It is among the most valuable and essential work performed by the CBA. The CBA Judicial Evaluation Committee is looking for members to serve in its Investigation Division. CBA members with a few years of practice experience are encouraged to apply. If you are a current JEC member there is no need to reapply.
