The CBA Young Lawyers Section is pleased to celebrate the American Bar Association's Law Day 2022: Toward a More Perfect Union. The 2022 Law Day theme focuses on The Constitution in times of change. We invite you to take part in celebrating the law and the legal profession by participating in one of the following:

Nominations for the Liberty Bell Award Being Accepted - Deadline April 22, 2022
The award is given each year during Law Week to a non-lawyer who has contributed to the administration of justice. To qualify, the nominee must: be a non-lawyer, have a sense of responsibility for community welfare and public duty, under the law, help others to understand and assert their rights under the law, promote and encourage respect for and obedience to the law, and assist the smooth functioning of our system of justice. Click here to learn more and access the nomination form.

Law Day Public Celebration at Daley Plaza

Join us at the Daley Center to enjoy musical selections from the CBA Barristers Big Band and hear personal reflections on the ABA Law Week theme, “Toward a More Perfect Union.” Judge Nichole Patton will provide brief remarks. 

Volunteer with Lawyers in the Classroom
In honor of Law Week 2022, the Young Lawyers Section is seeking attorneys to teach a civics lesson to a class of elementary school students for the Edward J. Lewis II Lawyers in the Classroom (LIC) program. You will be paired with a classroom at Haines Elementary School in Chicago and volunteers will be provided classroom materials (and must watch a one-hour recorded training session). No MCLE available.
